JACKSON, Wyo. — How about that sky last night?
The aurora borealis was visible over Jackson on the evening of Monday, Oct. 7, and Buckrail photographer Nick Sulzer glimpsed the lights over the Tetons.
Geomagnetic forces have been active for the past several days following coronal mass ejections associated with a major solar flare on Wednesday, Oct. 2. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Space Weather Prediction Center reports a G3-level (strong) geomagnetic storm in the past 24 hours, resulting in the aurora being visible as far south as Wyoming.
Buckrail readers submitted stunning Northern Lights snaps on Tuesday.

Instagram user @fizlisher also submitted a beautiful snap of the aurora.
Jackson was treated to a stunning Northern Lights display in May, when a severe geomagnetic storm lit up the skies.
