Buckrail reader Andrew Cappello shared photos of protesters lining two sides of Town Square and overflowing to other corners of the busy intersection. People held colorful and hand-decorated signs, and some took cues from protests in Portland, Oregon, donning inflatable character costumes.

According to WyoFile, U.S. Senator John Barrasso from Wyoming spoke in the Senate on Thursday before the rallies, calling the gatherings“radical” and “anti-American.”

Some protester signs displayed messages supporting democracy, science, immigration, diversity and truth.

WyoFile also reported that Fox news estimated 2,500 protests across the country, and that protest organizers estimated 7 million people rallied across the country.
