WILSON, Wyo. — Now that Teton Pass is back in play, local attention can return to another stretch of WY22: the Snake River Bridge.

The Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) opened the new half of the bridge to traffic on Tuesday, July 2. The new lanes are configured much like the old bridge was, with one lane of traffic traveling in each direction. The old bridge is now closed to traffic.
According to an earlier announcement by WYDOT, demolition of the old span will be conducted in stages, and is not expected to affect traffic. WYDOT’s project website indicates that removal of the old bridge is expected to be completed by the fall, when crews will focus on building the north half of the new structure.

Bridge girders for the north half of the bridge are projected to be installed in early 2025, followed by concrete work in the spring and completion by summer.
