TETON VILLAGE, Wyo. — Jackson Hole Mountain Resort (JHMR) opened for the 2023/2024 winter season, Nov. 24, reporting a 26″ snowpack on the summit and 12″ at mid-mountain.

The Thanksgiving Day storm brought some much-needed snow ahead of today’s opening. The resort reported 6″ of snow overnight at the summit. Apres Vous and Teewinot lifts opened for skiers and snowboarders this morning at 9 a.m. Groomed trails on the north side of the mountain are open, including Werner (Upper, Middle and Lower), Moran (Upper, Lower).

It’s been a warm and dry start to winter so far, proving challenging for snow-making operations, but according to Buckrail Meteorologist Alan Smith, “November has been warmer than average so far, but starting Friday and continuing through the end of the month, temperatures are expected to be below-average.”
