JACKSON, Wyo. — Protestors gathered on Town Square on Saturday as part of the nationwide “ICE Out for Good” demonstration to commemorate the person fatally shot by Immigration Customs and Enforcement (ICE) in Minneapolis last week, Renee Good.

Similar protests were organized in Casper, Cheyenne, Evanston, Laramie, Rock Springs and Sheridan.

“No one should fear being shot by any federal, or other law enforcement agency,” Teton County Democrats wrote in a “call to action” email ahead of the protest.

“We are calling for a peaceful protest, in support of our friends in Minneapolis and elsewhere, that have been impacted by the ICE raids, as have we,” the statement continued.

The first major demonstration of 2026 follows a politically active year on the square. Jacksonites have posted up on the corner of Broadway and Cache to exercise their First Amendment rights in response to public land debates and other federal-level decisions. At least six large protests occurred between March and October. Many of those local gatherings were also linked to nationwide demonstrations.
