JACKSON, Wyo. — In the last 48 hours, Jackson Hole has received a true winter storm treatment, with nearly a foot of fresh snowfall on the valley floor and double-digit snow totals at area ski resorts.

According to Buckrail Meteorologist Alan Smith, Wednesday morning’s 24-hour totals include 8-12″ at Jackson Hole’s mid to upper mountain, 7-10″ at Grand Targhee, and 10″ at Snow King. Heavy snow was also seen throughout the valley on Tuesday.

Here are the four-day storm snow totals from Saturday through Wednesday morning:

  • 42″ – Grand Targhee Snotel
  • 38″ – Grand Targhee Chief Joseph Bowl
  • 36″ – Jackson Hole Raymer Plot
  • 27″ – Jackson Hole Mid-Mountain
  • 26″ – Jackson Hole Rendezvous Bowl
  • 25″ – Surprise Lake (GTNP)
  • 18″ – Togwotee Pass
  • 17″ – Snow King
  • 9″ – Jackson Hole Base

In Teton County, several roads remain closed due to snow drifts and dangerous driving conditions. Avalanche danger is rated “considerable” in the Teton forecast area, increased danger especially exists in wind-drifted terrain.
