ALTA, Wyo. — Holiday cheer was in the air on Friday at Grand Targhee Resort for the annual Christmas Tree Lighting on the Plaza and Buckrail photographer Nick Sulzer was around to capture the magic.

Santa was in attendance as guests sipped on festive beverages, warmed up by the fire pits with s’mores and enjoyed holiday-themed activities for the whole family.

People mingled below the alpenglow on the mountaintops. The tree lighting ceremony took place at 5 p.m. to kick off the cozy season of winter in the Tetons.

Jackson Hole has recently been preparing for the holidays and the new year with celebratory lighting events around the valley.
