TETON VILLAGE, Wyo. — Blue skies and blue jeans made for a memorable day at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort (JHMR) as recreationalists set a new record for most people skiing or riding in jeans at one time on Saturday, Dec. 9.
JHMR reports that 3,114 denim-clad guests hit the slopes for the stunt, with $25 lift tickets selling out prior to the event.
“Kick off the season and celebrate the most famous pants in the West,” JHMR wrote on its website.
The event was inspired by a similar event in New Zealand, setting an earlier record in October with its Denim Dash, which also featured complimentary mullet haircuts.
“Skiing in jeans is a rite of passage,” JHMR’s event page said. “Let’s break the world record together.”
