JACKSON, Wyo. — Can it already be river season again?

A number of boat ramps accessing the Snake River have opened for the season, including the South Park boat ramp, the Astoria ramp and the Pritchard ramp, according to the Snake River Fund. Beyond those confirmed openings, other ramps in the area might still be under snow.

River access details for Grand Teton National Park have yet to be announced for the season.

The Wilson boat ramp will temporarily open from Saturday, April 13, to Sunday, April 28, with no onsite parking available and construction conditions still present. On weekdays, the ramp will be open “until 10:30 a.m. for morning access to the boating community. After 10:30 a.m., uninterrupted access to the construction site will be granted to the contractor,” according to Teton County/Jackson Parks and Recreation’s Monday announcement. On weekend days in that time frame, the ramp will be open to boaters all day.

The SRF encourages recreationists to check river conditions before heading out, and to always wear a personal floatation device in a moving water environment.
