TETON COUNTY, Idaho — The National Interagency Fire Center has predicted that much of eastern Idaho, including Teton County, will experience above normal wildland fire potential during the month of July.
The agency issued its Significant Wildland Fire Potential Outlook map on Monday, July 1.

Teton County (Idaho) Fire & Rescue shared the news on its social media channels, using the opportunity to encourage Idahoans to take extra fire precautions this summer.
“TCFR is urging residents and visitors to practice fire safety while working and recreating in the outdoors,” the agency wrote on Facebook.
Western Wyoming’s wildland fire outlook is predicted to be “normal” on the July map. Fire danger in the Jackson area was elevated to “moderate” on June 25.
Buckrail Meteorologist Alan Smith noted that fire conditions could be dicey this summer.
“Above-average temperatures and below-average rainfall in June are not an ideal combo when it comes to fire danger, as this can result in fuels drying out more quickly than usual,” Smith wrote.
