JACKSON HOLE, WYO – A Jackson man is close to beginning the new year the same way he started 2017—in prison.
Xavier Dyess, 19, was booked into the Teton County jail after again violating terms of his probation. Dyess was sentenced as a 17-year-old right around Christmas time 2016 to 3 1/2 to 10 years in prison for molesting a 3-year-old while under the care of his mother’s day care. Dyess was 15 years old at the time of the crime in 2014.
After completing less than a year of youth offender boot camp in Newcastle, Dyess was released with probation restrictions, which the teen almost immediately broke when he began dating a young woman with a months-old baby last spring.
Dyess was given a stern warning at the time and allowed to stay out of prison. That was back in June. Dyess now awaits yet another hearing to determine whether his prison sentence is back on or he is granted another chance.
