MORAN, Wyo. — Crews will be working along US26/287 between mileposts 27 and 31 on Thursday, Aug. 29 to remove dead trees as part of efforts to suppress the Fish Creek Fire.
The work will be conducted by Fish Creek Fire Operations personnel between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., according to an alert from the Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT).
Drivers in the area can expect delays while the tree removal takes place. Three people from WYDOT will be on site managing traffic, according to the agency.
“The trees are being removed as part of fire suppression efforts on Togwotee Pass between Dubois and Moran Junction,” WYDOT said on its Facebook page.
The Fish Creek Fire is burning on 11,397 acres about seven miles south of Togwotee Pass, and has been producing smoke that has led to limited visibility on the roadway. Drivers should visit WYDOT’s website to check road conditions before traveling on the pass.
