JACKSON, Wyo. — Teton County Search and Rescue put all disease concerns on hold yesterday to answer the call of duty.
Just after noon on Thursday, TCSAR got the pageout to assist an injured skier in the backcountry south of the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. The young woman was skiing with a guide when she was injured. She was unable to walk or ski due to her injuries. The decision was made to respond via helicopter and perform a short-haul operation.
The woman was lifted and safely transported to a waiting ambulance. Meanwhile, the rescue team made it back to the TCSAR hangar in just over two hours, door to door.
Jackson Hole Ski Patrol assisted in the operation.
