JACKSON, Wyo. — Residents can deliver their Christmas trees for free composting at either the Teton County Fairgrounds or the Trash Transfer Station until Jan. 31, 2024.

It is important to note that the Town of Jackson offers Christmas tree recycling to residents only. Trees should be completely undecorated when they are brought to either facility so they can be used in the composting process and diverted from the landfill.

Residents can drop trees at the Trash Transfer Station during their regular business hours from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday to Friday and from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturdays.

Christmas trees can be taken to the Teton County Fairgrounds at any time of the day or evening, as long as they are cleared of all lights and adornments. Residents can now start to see the growing pine tree pile located next to the recycling bins.

Tree recycling at the Trash Transfer Station and the Fairgrounds is free of cost to residents. After January, trees will be accepted at the Trash Transfer Station, with processing fees of $0.04 per pound with a $10 minimum.

The Teton County Trash Transfer Station and Recycling Center will be closed on Monday, Jan. 1, 2024 for New Year’s. Contact Teton County ISWR with any questions at 307-733-7678 or visit their website for more information.
