JACKSON HOLE, WYO – Sheriff’s Deputies performing a welfare check today on a resident in Game Creek discovered the subject deceased along with five dogs.

On Wednesday November 21, Teton County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched for a welfare check on a resident in the Game Creek Subdivision. The resident had not been seen by neighbors for approximately two weeks. There had been no movement seen at the house and there were no fresh tracks in the snow. It was reported the resident also had several dogs.

Deputies on scene determined the circumstances warranted making entry to the home to check the welfare of the resident. Inside the residence, the Deputies located the adult male and five dogs deceased. One dog was discovered alive and immediately taken to the Spring Creek Animal Hospital for treatment for starvation and dehydration.

The Teton County Coroner’s Office is working to confirm the identity of the decedent and notify next of kin. The death does not appear to be criminal in nature.

Anyone who wishes to make a donation for the treatment of the surviving dog can do so by calling Spring Creek at (307)-733-1606.
