JACKSON, Wyo. — On Thursday, a reception and dinner benefiting the House Freedom Fund will include guests Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) and former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, right here in Jackson Hole.
The event will be held at Spring Creek Ranch at 7 p.m. and aims to fundraise for some of the House GOP’s most conservative politicians.
Peter and Stephanie Lamelas, Dan and Carleen Brophy, and Jay and Karen Kemmerer, owners of Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, will host the event.
According to the Jackson Hole News & Guide, an event organizer confirmed that all three individuals received an invitation because they are either members or have been members of the House Freedom Caucus, which includes the “most conservative of all Republicans” per the Pew Research Center.
Taylor Greene’s attendance has garnered attention on social media. The representative from Georgia has made headlines recently for her controversial opinions.
Recently, Greene garnered public attention after Twitter suspended her for posting COVID misinformation. Along the 2020 campaign trail, Politico released a series of old videos of Greene in which she called George Soros a Nazi (Soros is a Democratic mega-donor and Holocaust survivor) and also called the 2018 midterm election part of “an Islamic invasion of our government.”
After winning Georgia’s 14th District by securing nearly 75% of the vote, Greene has challenged the legitimacy of President Biden’s presidential victory, fought against congressional mask mandates and has been removed from her house committees due to her support of QAnon and multiple conspiracy theories.
Admission for the event starts at $2,000 for couples and scales up to do $10,000 for a Host Committee ticket.
