Update, 4 a.m.: The road reopened at 3:36 a.m., according to a text alert issued by WYDOT.
Update, 11:30 p.m.: Jackson Hole Fire/EMS Battalion Chief Chris Stiehl shared that the collision involved a vehicle colliding with an RV that was towing another vehicle. Seven people were involved in the collision; three of those people were transported to St. John’s Health, and one was flown to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
Stiehl noted that the response involved a lot of help from other emergency response partners, including ambulances sent over from Teton Valley and from Grand Teton National Park. Wreckers from Palisades Towing & Recovery and Ron’s Towing assisted in the response, including lifting a vehicle off of a patient.
Road reopening time remains unknown.
JACKSON, Wyo. — Teton Pass has closed for a vehicle crash.
The accident was reported at milepost 7 on WY22 over Teton Pass, causing potential delays for drivers. Milepost 7 is just uphill from Trail Creek Road, on the east side of the Pass.
The Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) issued a text alert at 9:07 p.m. warning drivers that a travel lane was blocked, and to prepare for delays. A subsequent message at 9:11 p.m. stated that WY22 between Wilson and the Idaho state line was closed in both directions due to the crash. The estimated time of opening is unknown.
