JACKSON, Wyo. — Teton County/Jackson Parks and Recreation announced Thursday that the Recreation Center’s lap pool is expected to remain closed for “at least an additional four to six weeks.”

Parks and Rec shared that contractors evaluated the pool’s pump room this week, and determined that a full replacement pump must be ordered and installed.

“Due to the specificity of the parts and pump needed to match current plumbing, it is estimated to take at least four to six weeks for parts to arrive, and then additional time for installation by contractors,” Parks and Rec said via press release. “Teton County/Jackson Parks and Recreation recognizes the inconvenience of the lap pool’s extended closure and is committed providing safe, clean, functional, and accessible pool to the public.”

The pool’s closure was initially announced on April 9 as a temporary maintenance closure, after a routine inspection identified a mechanical issue. On April 15, Parks and Rec announced that the pool would remain closed until further notice.
