JACKSON, Wyo. — The gymnasium at the Teton County/Jackson Recreation Center will be closed for construction beginning Monday through July 17, Parks and Rec announced on Facebook.

“Starting June 26, our basketball gym will be temporarily closed until July 17,” the post read. “We appreciate your patience as we continue working towards the new and improved Rec Center.”

The pool will remain open for use, and details about relocated fitness classes will be available on the center’s website or at (307) 739-9025.

Earlier this month, Parks and Rec also had to close its main entrance, creating a temporary guest entrance while construction continues.

The eight-figure expansion project was approved by voters in 2019, with construction beginning in June 2022. Intended improvements include an expanded lobby, a larger indoor climbing facility, HVAC updates and plumbing work. A new fee schedule for the facilities will go into effect in 2024.
