JACKSON, Wyo. — Visitors to the Teton County/Jackson Recreation Center will have to access the facility through a temporary entrance starting on June 20, Teton County announced today.
Beginning Tuesday, the doors on the northwest side of Davey Jackson Elementary School will be the sole portal into the center through the end of August. Directions will be posted on signs outside of the building. Ongoing construction at the Rec Center has caused a temporary closure of the site’s main entrance.
In addition, a satellite front desk will be installed for customer service purposes while the lobby remains closed for remodeling. The aquatics area, gymnasium, locker rooms and food pantry will still be accessible during construction.
The center will be closed on June 19 in observance of Juneteenth. Last week, the Town and County approved a new fee schedule, slated to go into effect in 2024.
The eight-figure expansion project was approved by voters in 2019, with construction beginning in June 2022. Intended improvements include an expanded lobby, a larger indoor climbing facility, HVAC updates and plumbing work.
