R Park 4th anniversary now includes kites.

JACKSON HOLE, WYO – Rendezvous Park (R Park), a program of the Jackson Hole Land Trust, is excited to host its inaugural Kite Festival on Saturday, September 22, from 1-4pm.

R Park’s 4th Anniversary celebration will include the inaugural kites and creativity spectacle. This new family-friendly event will feature kites designed and crafted by seven local artists: Boughton Walden, Bronwyn Minton, Katy Fox, Mark Dunstan, Payton Spear, Ryan Stolp, and Walt Gerald.

The artists’ kites will be entered into a silent auction with all proceeds directly benefiting R Park’s programming and operations. Come view these unique works of art, bid to own one of these creations through the silent auction at the event, or paint your own kite to fly at our craft station.

“We are excited to celebrate in a special way with local art and businesses that help our community become more vibrant,” said Jr Rodriguez, JHLT Community Conservation Manager/R Park Director. “Autumn at R Park is a special time of year and we are looking forward to watching families and people of all ages out at the park flying kites at this inaugural event.”

R Park owes a debt of gratitude for sponsors Aspens Market, The Bank of Jackson Hole, The Jackson Hole Land Trust, Orijin Media, and Y2 Consultants.

The event kicks off at 1pm and will feature a DJ from local community radio station KHOL. Complimentary food and beverages will be available.

“A kite festival is a new and unique way for local artists to showcase their skills,” Scott Page with Orijin Media said. “We’re happy to be a sponsor, and we hope this encourages community members to get outside and experience R Park.”
