PPP ready to go March 24 Recreation Buckrail - Jackson Hole, news

JACKSON HOLE, WYO – Get ready, athletes. The 43rd Rendezvous River Sports Karen Oatey PPP is almost here.

The coming of spring is celebrated by the annual Pole Pedal Paddle event. The race is actually comprised of five legs—alpine ski/snowboard leg, a short running stage, a cross-country ski leg, a bicycle leg, and a boating leg.

By all accounts looking at the extended weather forecast out to reach day, PPP43 should be a chilly one. At this point a high in the low 30s with snow appears to be what contestants will be dealing with.

The event begins on Jackson Hole Mountain Resort and finishes at Astoria Hot Springs Park in Snake River Canyon.

Contestants can compete either individually or in teams. Costumes are strongly encouraged. Fun is mandatory.

The PPP is the third and final event in Jackson Hole Ski & Snowboard Club’s Triple Crown Series, and it’s one of its biggest fundraisers of the year.

JHSC, the town of Jackson’s oldest non-profit, is dedicated to providing attainable alpine, Nordic, and freeride (snowboard & freeski) programs to Jackson’s youth.
