JACKSON, Wyo. — The Giants failed to take advantage of a home doubleheader with Pocatello Thursday in Jackson, as Post 43 fell to the Runnin’ Rebels twice in two tries.

Pocatello put up 3 in the first inning of the first game and the Giants were chasing the Rebs for the rest of the afternoon. It wasn’t for a lack of effort. The Giants threatened in nearly every inning of the first game but 11 men left on base told a story of squandered opportunities.

Seth Christiansen went 3-3 while team captain Quentin Bruno, batting behind him in the order, knocked in 3 of the Giants 6 runs.

The comeback kids gave it all they had with their last at-bat, putting up 4 runs in the bottom of the 7th to give Pocatello a scare and make it a bit closer in the eventual 10-6 loss.

The nightcap was all Riley Perk as the Runnin’ Reb starter threw a complete game shutout, surrendering just 4 Giants hits—Jackson’s Connor Lang had 2 of those.

The 7-0 whitewashing leaves Post 43 at 17-26 on the season. Not where they wanted to be but looking at a rematch with the Rock Springs Archie Hay Sand Puppies this Saturday afternoon at Giants Stadium. Jackson has won four of the previous seven meetings between the two teams. Game times set for 3:00 and 5:00 p.m.
