JACKSON, Wyo. — Here are some recent calls for service in Teton County/Jackson from the dispatch log. Names may be withheld at the request of law enforcement. All persons cited or arrested are presumed innocent until convicted in a court of law. Charges are subject to change following official filing from the Teton County Attorney’s Office.
July 30, 2:07 a.m.
Police made a traffic stop on a vehicle which failed to stop for a stop-sign and which was also speeding. When officers contacted the driver, they found them to be intoxicated. The driver did poorly on their field sobriety tests and they arrested the 25-year-old Irwin, Pennsylvania man for DUI.
July 31, 2:51 a.m.
Police responded to a parking complaint. The resident of an apartment complex called 911 to report that a person was parked in the loading zone of the complex. Besides being very upset police wouldn’t tow the vehicle from private property, the person was having other issues officers attempted unsuccessfully to resolve.
July 31, 2:16 p.m.
Police responded to a commercial burglary. Someone broke into a law office, damaging a door in the process. It does not appear that anything was taken, but police will investigate to determine who caused the $100 in damage.
“We may be able to grab some video from neighboring businesses and we’ll let you know if we need your help,” said Lt. Roger Schultz
August 1, 9:19 a.m.
Police responded to a Trespassing complaint. It was reported a man was illegally camping and trespassing on the back patio of the US Fish and Wildlife Visitor Center. When contacted, we learned the 34-year-old Escanaba, Michigan man had a nationwide warrant for his arrest for violating his parole. That being the case, the police placed the man in custody.
August 1, 1:30 p.m.
Police responded to a report of a Dog Bite. Apparently, the dog in question was injured when it was hit by a vehicle. A very nice man stopped to pick the dog up and take it to the vet, but was bit by the dog several times while trying to help. The 26-year-old Jackson female owner of the dog was contacted and given a citation for allowing her dog to roam at-large.
August 1, 6:50 p.m.
Police responded to a report of an Assault. A female contacted the TCSO dispatch center and reported she had been punched by another female. When officers arrived, they learned the altercation was over the victim wearing a mask. The suspect apparently ripped it from her face and punched her. Police are working to identify the suspect and will be issuing a citation if able to do so.
August 1, 12:00 midnight,
Police responded to a report of Fraud. It was initially believed someone had messed with the victim’s accounts, but after taking a closer look, it appears to have been a clerical error. No crime was committed.
August 1, 11:44 p.m.
Police responded to a Domestic Disturbance. When officers arrived, they learned a couple got into an argument over having to cancel their wedding. The argument devolved into a physical altercation. Police arrested the 49-year-old Albuquerque, New Mexico woman for Domestic Assault.
August 2, 12:27 a.m.
Officers were conducting foot patrol on the town square when a man walked past them who smelled of marijuana. They stopped and the man and asked him about the odor.
“You can smell it?” the man responded.
Police seized the man’s marijuana for destruction and let him be on his way without any citation.
August 2, 3:59 p.m.
The airport officer responded to a report of a stolen bag. The bag was scanned onto the carousel but taken before the owner could grab it. Police are hoping someone grabbed it by mistake and will return in when they find their error. For now, the owner of the bag is out hundreds of dollars in clothing and climbing gear.
