JACKSON, Wyo. — Back to school season is ramping up and for some families in our community school supplies can be challenging to acquire for their children.
Now through September 4, One22 Resource Center is collecting school supplies at two locations—Teton County Library and One22 Resource Center on the St. John’s Episcopal Church Campus.
One22 Resource Center staff will coordinate with families on supplies needed for their children. They will also have an opportunity to verify if families have filled out the Free/Reduced Lunch Program application and discuss the WEHAP housing assistance application through the Wyoming Community Development Authority for rent and mortgage assistance.
“Back to school season this year is unique, and we know that families are dealing with stresses of financial insecurity and planning for their children to have a positive back to school experience,” says One22 Resource Center director of education and outreach Isabel Zumel. “We want to show our support for these families and have an opportunity to interface with clients and new clients dealing with different needs than in previous years. Housing, food, supplies and more are concrete steps to ensuring that a family and our school children are ready and supported for the beginning of school.”
