JACKSON, Wyo. — Every day is a new day in the Bin22 shop. With carefully curated selections arriving in the shop daily, the offerings invite guests to try a new bottle each time.
“We try to represent all the wines of the world, from all the major growing regions, all the major varietals and then also a small inflection of the funky different things,” said Neil Loomis, director of beverage for Fine Dining Restaurant Group.
And this season, the shop has plenty of new bottles in store.
New to the Shop this Season
New to Bin22, Loomis highlights two bottles from The Withers, a winery located in the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range. The Ruben is an 83% Mourvèdre, 9% Syrah, and 8% Grenache grown in the hills of El Dorado. Also from The Withers is In Hand, a 69% Mourvèdre, 31% Syrah. These Mourvèdre wines express themselves with core aromas and flavors of spice and earth.
Loomis explains that the higher elevations where these grapes are grown gives these wines a more punctuated flavor profile.
“Sugar levels get very high during the day, and at night the grapes cool down and it maintains the acidity in a wine, which is super important to have the balance of fruit flavor and acidity. This a unique project.”
Another wine to try out is the Rocca di Montegrossi Chianti Classico 2016.
“This a new classification in Chianti Tuscan wine with a little bit more aging. It’s really tasty,” says Loomis.
For Summer’s Last Barbecues

While summer is dwindling, time outside at a barbecue with family and friends still remains for a short while.
Loomis says the perfect way to cool off for an outside barbecue is with a white wine like Margerum and a rosé like Chateau La Rame Bordeaux Rosé. From there, you can introduce a barbecue red for the main entrees. The best part about these two wines is their affordability, says Loomis.
“These are really affordable choices. Both wines retail for under $30, proving that delicious wine does not have to break your budget.”
A Catch-All Bottle
Don’t know someone’s taste? New neighbors next door?
Loomis says a go-to “safety, catch-all” wine is the Il Borro Toscana Pian di Nova Rosso.
“This is a Super Tuscan blend. It’s a wine everybody likes. If you like the Old World Tuscan wines, you’ll like it. If you like the fruitier kind of New World wines, this has enough to just meld everything together.”
For Date Night
Add to the romance with a taste of France.
A perfect date night wine is Domaine La Bouissiere Gigondas from the southeast valley of France, where the main grape varietal is grenache.
“This wine has a really nice white pepper touch to it. There’s a topiary of herbs that you get from that southern part of France: thyme, oregano, lavender. It has an herbal essence and depth to it.
This wine is ideal for a date night as it pairs seamlessly with a classic steak or elk filet.
Neil’s Favorite
While choosing a favorite is an impossible task, when forced to choose, Neil goes for the La Caduta’s Caparzo Rosso di Montalcino.
“The grapes have a great amount of integrity to them. I think this one is pretty awesome.”
A Selection for Everyone
“What we have on the floor only scratches the surface of what we have the ability to get,” says Loomis.
