UNITED STATES — The Department of the Interior is observing the five-year anniversary of the Great American Outdoors Act (GAOA) by waiving entrance fees on Department-managed public lands on Monday, Aug. 4.

This means visitors can enter national parks free of charge today. Other fees remain in effect, such as those for overnight camping.

The GAOA was signed on Aug. 4, 2020 to help fund projects to improve public lands. It has funded road improvement projects in Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks, among other endeavors. Learn more about GAOA-funded projects in Wyoming here.

Fees will be waived in national parks on two more days in 2025: Sept. 27 for National Public Lands Day and Nov. 11 for Veterans Day.
