Jackson Local, Layne Presson, was inspired to start developing routes in Wilson Canyon, affectionately dubbed “Layn’s World” by some coworkers, due to it’s easy access from town and fun mountain bike approaches. Presson has been working on routes along Putt Putt, Skyline, and Wilson Canyon trails this summer, all of which he has accessed by mountain bike.
Presson and other locals like Tom Hargis have donated their personal time and funds to create new climbs for the community. “It probably won’t take long before the easier access climbing is overpopulated, but if there is some way I can get the 5.12 climbers psyched on developing some raw routes, I am all ears!” said Presson.
