TETON VILLAGE, Wyo. — Construction on southern portion of Moose-Wilson Road is currently underway but Memorial Day Weekend marks the start of the road opening to vehicles and bikes on the weekends only.

The southern entrance to Grand Teton National Park via the Granite Canyon Entrance will be closed to the Laurence S. Rockefeller Preserve except for weekends, from 7 p.m. Friday to 7 a.m. Monday, Memorial Day Weekend to Labor Day Weekend. The road will also be open on federal holidays during that window.

Vehicles and bikes have the same access to the road.

According to the park, construction will address infrastructure needs by paving the unpaved section of the road, improving trailheads and pullouts, and upgrading the Granite Canyon Entrance, while preserving the rustic character of the corridor to provide high-quality visitor opportunities, including wildlife and scenery viewing.

The first 1/2 mile of trail from Granite Canyon trailhead is closed for the season.

RVs and trailers 23.3 feet in length or greater are not permitted on Moose-Wilson Road at any time.
