JACKSON HOLE, WYO – The Jackson Hole Moose will look to extend their six-game winning streak tonight and tomorrow as they take on regional rivals from Denver.
The Moose got the best of the Leafs last year by 8-4 and 7-3 scores. In fact, dating back to the 2012-13 season, the Moose have never lost to Denver, though every game has been fairly close.
The Moose have done a good job this season of responding to game situations. For a long time, this team has always played down or up to its opponent’s level. In year’s past, the Knute Rockne in the dressing room between periods haven’t always been enough. This season, after a particularly flat period, the Moose usually come roaring out of the room ready to rock.
This team is learning how to win in different ways. Confidence has been rebuilt after a dropping 3 of 4 to Sun Valley last month. The compete level is just about where it needs to be. The Moose have failed to show up on only one occasion—a 5-1 loss to Vail in their building.
Just past the midway point of the season and the Moose are a health 14-5—on track to rack up 20 wins for their season, which is what the organization aims for, unofficially.
The Moose have announced they will offer free admission this weekend to all federal employees furloughed by the government shutdown.
