JACKSON, Wyo. — Mental Health JH has announced that their pilot program for free mental health visits ends this summer.

Applications for new patients will no longer be taken after May 31, 2021, and all mental health visits under the program will need to be completed by July 31, 2021.

Community partners St. John’s Health Foundation and the Community Foundation of Jackson Hole have sponsored the pilot program along with practitioners from JH Community Counseling Center, Teton Behavior Therapy, Jackson Hole Therapy, Teton County School District, and Curran Seeley. This group has witnessed how streamlined access to mental care has supported our community.

Practitioners saw over 825 new patients throughout the pilot program. Friends, family, co-workers were given an outlet to process their stress, anxiety, and depression, which led many of them to encourage others to apply, check in, and take care of their own mental health.

The “Let’s Talk” campaign sought to bring to light every facet of mental health care and assure that no one in our community felt alone in their struggles.

“We are thankful to our community who reached out and accessed mental health care and extend our sincerest gratitude to every practitioner who volunteered to take part in this program,” said St. John’s Health Foundation President John Goettler. “The COVID-19 pandemic brought challenges to every corner of our valley, and we are proud to have provided financial support during this year.”

“Access to mental health care is essential to our community’s wellbeing. It was a privilege to work with these partners to remove barriers to access,” said the Community Foundation of Jackson Hole President Laurie Andrews. “The conversations we have heard from family and friends tell us that the need is great and we will continue to build on the success of this program.”
