JACKSON, Wyo. — A 26-year-old man has been arrested following a high-speed chase involving both the Jackson Police Department (JPD) and the Teton County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO).

According to a press release by the Town of Jackson, JPD was informed of a car crash around 11:40 a.m. on Thursday, April 17, followed by multiple additional reports of vehicle collisions. Officers located the offender, but the vehicle did not yield.

Officers then pursued the vehicle in question out of town limits and down US89 at a “high rate of speed” until the driver turned into the Game Creek subdivision, where spike strips were used to stop the vehicle, according to TCSO. The single occupant of the vehicle was arrested by JPD.

The incident remains under investigation. Three law enforcement vehicles and three civilian vehicles were reported damaged, but no officers or civilians were injured, per the release.

“Leading up to the pursuit, the JPD fielded reports of an erratic driver in the vicinity of South Highway 89 and South Park Loop Road including surrounding parking lots and sidewalks,” the release reads. “If any community members or businesses have video footage, information or saw any further collisions this morning, please contact Corporal Kevin Jones through this non-emergency dispatch number at 307-733-2331.”
