WYOMING — After a nationwide search, the Board of Directors at Lower Valley Energy (LVE) has selected Bear Prairie as their new CEO. His term will start on Jan. 26, 2026. The current CEO, Jim Webb, will serve until that date.

“This decision was made after a nationwide search and careful deliberation, with explicit attention on continuing LVE’s success in achieving its mission of safe, reliable, low-cost electricity and natural gas for its members, as well as ensuring that LVE remains a productive, supportive, learning organization for its employees,” LVE said in a statement.

Webb has worked at LVE for 36 years and served as the CEO for last 31. LVE states on its website that it has had the lowest price of cooperative residential electricity in the nation for 13 of the last 15 years.

Prairie has over 25 years of experience in the energy and broadband sector, with experience leading 92 employees and managing an annual budget of $120 million at Bonneville Power Administration (BPA). Prairie is described in the announcement as a “well-known leader and voice for electric consumers with BPA.”

LVE keeps the lights on in Teton County and also services Lincoln County and Sublette County in Wyoming. The service area extends to the north entrance of Yellowstone, all the way to the southern towns of Smoot and Bondurant and over to Idaho, near Soda Springs.
