JACKSON, Wyo. — It has been a pretty good winter for the local outdoor ice rinks as cold temps in February have helped extend the season.
Just a couple weeks left, weather-wise, and logistically, as Parks & Rec today announced they will take down the fairgrounds rink on March 5 in preparation for Hill Climb.
According to Parks & Rec, the rink must be broken down prior to Hill Climb setup, which starts the week of March 16. It takes a couple of weeks to melt out the boards, tear it down, and clean up the area.
Powderhorn, Owen Bircher and Alta rinks will stay open as long as weather allows.
