JACKSON, Wyo. — On June 24, six horses escaped their corral and made it to the top of the Crystal Lite Trail near East Jackson to graze.

Crystal Lite Trail, which can be accessed from the Nelson Drive Trailhead, is typically managed as hike and horse, but no riders were present with the horses.

Lt. Russ Ruschill with the Jackson Police Department (JPD) said a call was placed reporting the horses on the butte at 9:57 a.m. this past Saturday. JPD then contacted Brand Inspector Bob Lundy, who contacted the owner of the horses.

“The horses are returned to their owner,” Lundy confirmed to Buckrail this morning.

Bar T 5, whose horses are located close to the Crystal hiking area, told Buckrail the escaped horses were not from their team.
