JACKSON, Wyo. — Teton County Library interim director Sid Stanfill will finally move on at the end of the month after extending his contract two months to ensure a smooth transition through COVID-19 measures.
Ari Goldstein, who will resign from his role as Library Board Treasurer, a position in which he has served since 2016, will step in as the role of interim director.
At their monthly meeting today, library board members voted to fill the interim director role with Goldstein, and thanked Stanfill for his service.
“The library board appreciates the expertise and guidance Sid Stanfill has provided these past four and a half months and we wish him well as he returns to retirement,” said John Hebberger, Jr., Library board president, adding that both the library and community will benefit from Goldstein’s leadership. “Ari is a great choice because he’ll be able to seamlessly transition into the interim role thanks to his extensive knowledge of library functions and staff.”
The process to identify and hire a new permanent library director continues under the guidance of executive search firm John Keister and Associates, despite the Covid-19 pandemic. The library board anticipates interviewing possible candidates within the next month.
Library staff continue to work hard in providing community access to a broad array of digital materials during the current community lock-down, adding to online content with online storytimes and expanded access to online resources and library card membership.
