JACKSON, Wyo. — In looking ahead to the future, Teton County Library (TCL) asks the community to complete a space planning survey to help plan its potential remodel. The survey is available until Sunday, October 6.

“As we surveyed the community during strategic planning, we fielded a variety of comments and suggestions for better use of our facilities,” Director of Library Services Kip Roberson said in the announcement. “Hearing that common theme led us to make Library Spaces one of the priorities in our Strategic Direction 2023-2027.”

In 2013, TCL completed a voter-approved Specific Purpose Excise Tax-funded renovation, which included the addition of an 11,000-square-foot youth wing. Since that time, several local, regional and national trends have changed visitor use needs, leading the library staff and board to evaluate its spaces, according to TCL.

TCL held a request for proposals from space planners earlier this year, and the Library Board voted in June to award the space planning contract to the Denver architectural firm EUA, Inc. EUA has been studying the library’s space usage patterns and community input is now needed in the planning process.

With a potential remodel, TCL looks to provide “inspiring, innovative, accessible and responsibly-designed spaces that foster community connections and enhance access to information, knowledge and services.”

Both a general space survey and a teen-specific version (in English and Spanish) can be found online at tclib.org/spacesurvey, or a paper copy can be picked up at the library.
