JACKSON, WY— Renowned wildlife artist Greg Beecham is the subject of Legacy Gallery’s next Artist Focus.
Join Beecham in Jackson Hole, Wyoming from September 7– 16. The show will feature eight new works and will focus on Northern American animals like his beloved trumpeter swans and grizzly bears. The Onaqui mustangs of Western Utah have been Beecham’s recent favorite subject matter.
The son of wildlife painter Tom Beecham, Greg Beecham was taught to draw at a young age and has been painting professionally for 41 years. Greg’s painting style is what sets him apart from other artists, giving the illusion of dimension and depth to the paint itself. He believes that being a wildlife artist is the best of all genres, being out in the wild with the animals he loves so much is a huge part of his “work”.
Greg is a six-time wildlife award recipient at the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum’s Prix de West Western Art Show in Oklahoma. He was also awarded the Buyer’s Choice medal at Prix de West.
He has received the Artist’s Choice award and People’s choice award at the Western Visions Show at National Museum of Wildlife Art, Jackson, WY. In 2018, he was honored to receive the artist’s choice award at the Night of Artists Show, Briscoe Museum, San Antonio, TX. He was inducted into The Gilcrease Rendezvous Hall of Fame, and recognized with a retrospective of his work at the Gilcrease Museum, Tulsa, OK. His work is in the permanent collections of The Gilcrease Museum, The National Museum of Wildlife Art, The Montana Historical Museum, and the Briscoe Museum.
Greg lives high in the Wyoming Rockies with his wife, Lu. They have two grown children. They enjoy their horses, hunting, and watching and photographing the local wildlife. As a Christian, Beecham honors the sanctity of life and the beauty of creation. His motto is, “Do all things unto the Lord, and get so good you can’t be ignored.”
