Mama moose with her calves in tow was spotted on Wednesday munching and exploring. Female moose can become aggressive when protecting their young and can run over 35 miles per hour, according to the National Wildlife Federation (NWF).

Moose calves can weigh up to 30 pounds when they are born. NWF says that little ones typically stick by mom’s side for a year before venturing out on their own.
