JACKSON, Wyo. — Teton County Emergency Management issued an alert on Wednesday evening warning residents of potential telecommunication outages.

“Teton County, Wyoming may see some regional telecommunication outages this evening due to flooding of some telecommunication infrastructure,” the alert said. “This has the greatest potential to impact landline telephone calls and other networks that may depend on landline phone lines.”

According to the alert, impacts might be felt in Bondurant and northern Lincoln County, as well.

“This may mean that phone calls cannot be completed and data systems that depend on that telephone infrastructure may go down,” the alert said.

The outages could take place through Thursday, Jan. 18. Teton County Emergency Management advised locals to inform loved ones that communication might not be possible while the outages persist.

Calls to 911 in Teton County are being rerouted to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office in Kemmerer as a precaution. In the event of an emergency, if a 911 call is not going through, residents can try 307-413-1414.
