JACKSON, Wyo. — The Intertribal Gathering is a two-day, invite-only event that shares and amplifies Indigenous knowledge, wisdom and voices in federal land management of the southern Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. To celebrate the inaugural event, there will be a public portion that is free and open to all.
On behalf of the Gathering planning and supporting partners, and in partnership with the Pretty Shield Foundation and Rocky Mountain Tribal Leaders Council, JH Public Art invites you to join us on Wednesday, October 4 at 6:30 p.m. at Phil Baux Park to celebrate the connection between communities, culture and land.
The Teepees will be illuminated on Thursday night too!
As the sun sets, enjoy a special performance of REMATRIATE by Patti Baldes, featuring willow buffalo sculptures brought to life by dancers in a reflection of the relationship between Tribes, buffalo and the land. Then, watch the Lighting of the Teepees installation illuminate at dusk, standing as visual reminders of unity and collaboration.
