JACKSON, Wyo. — Jackson Hole Fire/EMS and the Town of Jackson have announced that Interim Fire Chief Mike Moyer has accepted the position of Fire Chief as of Wednesday, Nov. 20.

Moyer was named Interim Fire Chief earlier this year, following the departure of embattled former Chief Stephen Jellie. In the announcement, the agency shared that Moyer has served as a fire responder since 1987, stepping in as Interim Chief on several occasions. He served as Battalion Chief for years before becoming Assistant Fire Chief in 2023.

“Congratulations Chief!” Jackson Hole Fire/EMS posted to Facebook on Wednesday. “We are so pleased to hear this announcement and look forward to serving the community under your leadership!”
