Jackson Hole Airport April 2021 Activity Report, 17,318 arrivals

JACKSON, Wyo. — The Jackson Hole Airport released its April 2021 Activity Report and the data is a stark comparison to April 2020.

Overall enplanement, or the number of people who boarded an aircraft, totaled 18,834 passengers for April 2021. According to the Jackson Hole Airport, this is a 3,816% increase as compared to April 2020, which had 481 enplanements.

April 2021 enplanements are the highest on record, with data available since 2017. The 2021 enplanement levels broke the April 2019 record of 13,945 passengers. This is a 35% increase.

Deplanement or the number of passengers who disembarked from an aircraft at Jackson Hole Airport also broke the record for April.

The airport recorded 17,318 passengers arriving in Jackson Hole for the month of April 2021. Deplanements in April of 2020 were just 516 passengers. 253 aircraft landed in Jackson Hole in April 2021, compared to just 80 in April of 2020.

So far this year, aircraft landings have increased 45% compared to 2020, with data not yet available for May 2021.

In 2019, May enplanements totaled 19,624 passengers while deplanements were recorded at 22,302. With April 2021 enplanements and deplanements in the ballpark of May 2019 levels, it can be expected that May will also break records as the tourist season in Jackson Hole begins to ramp up.

The Chamber of Commerce recently released a sixty-day advanced occupancy rate projection, tracking on-the-books reservations for eighteen Jackson Hole lodging properties.

On-the-books reservations are projected to be above 60% beginning May 27, with occupancy rates expected to increase throughout June. On June 24 and June 25, lodging properties are reporting on-the-books reservations at 90% occupancy.
