JACKSON, Wyo. — Teton County School District #1 shared plans for a public school opening September 1 that will include a return to classrooms.
“We are carefully monitoring the current level of COVID-19 in our community and the potential impacts the increasing number of cases may have on these plans, however, we must proceed with our planning efforts,” the district stated in a release.
The district is asking all families to complete an Attendance Model Request Form for each student in their household.
In addition to the survey, the district is also asking parents to review a presentation that outlines information about each of the attendance options.
“Your participation by the August 6 deadline is vital to our reopening efforts,” the district stated.
Parents should understand that all public schools in Teton County will be reopening at the Tier II level, which means schools are scheduled to open for face-to-face learning while also providing online options for families who, for whatever reason, are not comfortable having their students return to onsite learning in early September.
Summarizing the options
- If you feel very comfortable sending your child to school starting September 1, you would select option 1, daily attendance.
- If you have concerns about your child attending school on-site, you could select option 2, a hybrid option that would allow face to face and Classroom-Based Virtual Education.
- If you have significant concerns about your student returning at any point during the first semester, or possibly the entire school year, you might want to select option 3, virtual education.
Each student’s school will reach out in mid-August to provide additional information about how these options will be implemented in the schools.
