JACKSON, Wyo. — Service issues are plaguing internet and cellular users across Teton County, but emergency services are still accessible, according to Teton County Emergency Management.

“Local phone service issues are affecting multiple carriers, impacting Town Hall, the Hospital, and other facilities,” an emergency alert issued at 4:01 p.m. on Monday reads. “Some incoming and outgoing calls may fail. 911 remains fully operational. Use text or alternate contact methods if calling does not go through.”

Teton County Emergency Management Coordinator Rich Ochs told Buckrail that the issue is likely due to a fiber cut in another county, and that telecommunications crews are on the scene to repair the issue. He’s heard of widespread issues affecting western Wyoming beyond just Teton County. Ochs asks that residents do not call 911 to test whether it’s working.
