JACKSON, Wyo. — Just because it’s close to town doesn’t mean it’s not dangerous.

Teton County Search and Rescue got a call yesterday afternoon to help an injured hiker with a broken ankle on the Josie’s Ridge trail.

Volunteers were able to use the wheeled litter to maneuver the patient down the trail to further medical treatment.

TCSAR reminds the community that the trail network around town should still be considered backcountry with potential hazards. Slipping or tripping, steep slopes, a sudden onset of inclement weather, dehydration, and wildlife encounters are all possible. Be safe out there.
