WYOMING — The multi-vehicle crash this morning at around 10:18 a.m. on Interstate 80 began when a state trooper stopped to assist a tractor-trailer driver at the side of the highway.
As the trooper was speaking with the driver, another vehicle ran into the back of the stopped commercial truck. This created several other drivers to lose control of their vehicles and also crash.
At the time of the crash, there was dense fog and slick roads.
By the time the crashing stopped, there were over 27 vehicles in the pileup, including 23 commercial trucks. All parties that were injured in the crash were transported to the Ivinson Memorial Hospital.
The accident happened in the eastbound lane of I-80 just east of Laramie near milepost 331. The interstate remains closed at this time while troopers continue to investigate the crash.
