HOBACK, Wyo. — A downed cable hazard in the Hoback River has been fixed temporarily, and a more permanent repair is currently in the works, according to an update by the Snake River Fund.

CenturyLink crews addressed the situation on Tuesday, May 6, implementing a temporary fix so the cable is no longer posing a danger to river users. According to the Snake River Fund, CenturyLink will coordinate with the Wyoming Department of Transportation to figure out a permanent repair along the bridge.
River users are encouraged to check conditions before venturing out. Early season conditions exist along waterways. Always wear a personal floatation device. River users who encounter any hazards are encouraged to report them to the Snake River Fund.
