JACKSON, Wyo. — Numerous record highs were set across Western Wyoming and Eastern Idaho on Monday afternoon including the Jackson Hole Valley as an impressive late summer heat wave has gripped the entire Western U.S.
The Jackson Hole Airport recorded a high temperature of 92 on Monday, August 17, which broke the old record of 88 set in 2013. Records at this location date back to 1997.
The Moose weather station in Grand Teton National Park broke a high temperature record as well as the thermometer soared to 95 degrees, breaking the old record of 92 set in 2013. Records at this location date back to 1959.
Record high temperatures for the date were set all across Western Wyoming and Eastern Idaho, with many locations seeing highs in the upper 90s.
