JACKSON, Wyo. — The Teton County Health Department wants to make getting a flu shot as easy as possible.
To help, they’re hosting a Flu Clinic at he Senior Center of Jackson Hole Friday, Oct. 4. The clinic is focused on adults 65 and older, but anyone is welcome.
High dose flu shots will be available for adults 65 and older while supplies last. The quadrivalent flu shot, which provides protection against four strains of influenza but in a smaller dose, will also be available for people under 65 or who don’t want a high dose shot.
The Teton County Health Department can bill Medicare and other insurances for the cost of either type of flu shot. Please bring your Medicare card, insurance card, and/or your supplemental insurance card with you to ensure accurate billing occurs. For those without insurance, the Health Department will also accept same-day cash payment.
Pneumonia vaccines will also be available. Check with your primary care provider to see which vaccine you may need, and bring your vaccine record and insurance information.
The 2018 Community Health Needs Assessment prioritized immunizations for people ages 65 and older as a top health issue for Teton County.
The clinic will run from 10:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4 at The Senior Center of Jackson Hole.
